CALGARY/AM770CHQR - The lawyer representing Canada's largest energy workers union has told Calgary hearings on a massive pipeline project, it's a bad deal for Canada and Canadians.

The Keystone Pipeline would export half a million barrells per day of raw bitumen from the Alberta oilsands to the U.S.

Steven Shrybman told the National Energy Board they should deny the application because it goes against public interest economically and environmentally.

Shrybman claims the application fails to disclose what the pipeline will actually be used for.

The Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union represents over 35,000 workers in the oil and gas industry.
